We’re looking for a VP Finance to be the company’s financial backbone and strategic growth partner. This role reports directly to the CEO and is the precursor to a CFO position.
What you’ll do
Be the primary point of contact on all finance, accounting, and business questions related to the company’s near and long-term success. You will envision, coordinate, and execute Finance initiatives. Part of that is to implement and execute credit financing, help raise consequent rounds of equity funding, and build our financial engine.
You will solve for multiple priorities (growth, efficiency, profitability, quality) and consider various stakeholders (e.g., investors, customers, banks). You will own the financial aspects of the company as the precursor to a CFO position.
Most importantly you will have stage relevant experience in working in an earlier stage (Seed, Series, A, B, C) venture funded company.
What we’re looking for
- Own our planning and forecasting: You own and coordinate our annual planning and monthly forecasting process. You lead all aspects of financial modeling and analysis and challenge the inputs of all departments to continuously increase our forecasting accuracy
- Bulletproof our accounting and reporting process: Provide actionable insights across the organization in a timely manner (monthly, quarterly, yearly) to the team, and internal stakeholders, to current and future investors, and to the board. Get the company ready for a Big4 Audit
- Develop our capital stack: You're managing the process of raising capital across structured finance (asset backed debt from banks) and venture debt as well as support the founders in raising equity in subsequent financing rounds
- Manage all aspects of cash flow: Monitor, manage, and develop the in and out flows of capital (e.g., implement billing and expense tracking processes) and manage cash across different entities, debt facilities, and financing instruments
- Hire and lead your team: You are responsible for building and developing a team of A++ finance superstars across accounting, reporting, data, strategic and structured finance
General requirements
- Strong background in finance and accounting (e.g., investment banking, consulting, FP&A/accounting) with 8+ years of relevant experience
- Experience in earlier stage venture backed businesses and/or experience in the cybersecurity industry is a plus
- CPA designation is desired
- High EQ, and proven ability to deliver outstanding results in a timely manner using a strong sense of focus, organization, and meticulous attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build sustainable relationships, manage a team, influence stakeholders, and inspire others
- Willingness to get your hands dirty, lead by example, and motivate teams both through in-person and remote management
- Data-driven mindset, strong business judgment, and proven ability to perform analysis, draw key insights, and form and execute a strategy
